Accidents Keep Station Busy Morning and Night

 

10-07-2007- Crews were called from their sleep at 03:48 hours this morning for a reported car into a tree on Arbutus La. in Pocono Woodlands.  Ambulance 268 and 26 Rescue responded and arrived on find a small sedan had run off the road striking a small tree.  The EMS and Fire crews assessed to scene to find the vehicle suffered minor damage and the driver tired by uninjured.  Crews stood by until Pa. State Police arrived to investigate the incident and then assisted the driver with placing the vehicle back on the road.  Crews were in service 50 minutes.  At 20:02 hours Ambulance 268 and 26 Rescue were dispatched again to a vehicle on it’s side on Gold Key Rd. in Gold Key Lake.  Assistant Chiefs O’Brien and LaPadula arrived on scene and found a sedan upright that had struck utility pole with all the occupants out of the vehicle and uninjured.  EMS crews assessed the occupants while the Fire crews secured the hazards.  Units were on scene of the 2nd accident for 40 minutes.  The volunteers also hosted the monthly breakfast today and answered one additional EMS call.

 

Simultaneous Vehicle and Structure Fire Calls Keep Crews Running

 

10-06-2007-  At 13:20 hours 26 Engine along with Ambulance 268 were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Cromwell Rd. in Gold Key Lake.  While enroute to vehicle fire an additional crew was requested to assist the Delaware Fire Co. with a structure fire in the Wild Acres development.  A crew manning 26 Ladder responded to the mutual aid call. 26 Engine arrived on the vehicle fire scene to find a smoldering fire in the passenger compartment of a sedan parked in the driveway.  The Engine’s crew made quick work of the fire without incident.  The Ladder and it’s crew were returned by Delaware’s OIC prior to reaching the scene.  Crews were in service for ½ hour for both calls.

 

Early Morning Assist to Milford FD

 

10-02-2007- Shortly after 06:00 this morning Milford FD Chief Mann (33-1) requested 26 Engine to stand-by at his station while Stations 33 & 39 handled a possible structure fire in an apartment house on West John St. in Milford Borough.  Shortly after marking enroute to Station 33, 26 Engine was upgraded to the scene to assist with searching the building.  The crew from the engine assisted in the secondary search of structure.  The crew from Milford made quick work of a stove fire in one of the apartments.  Evacuation and ventilation of the building took awhile longer but no serious injuries were reported.  Dingman Township’s crew was in service for just over an hour.
