Accident On Rt. 739
03-08-2008-
Dingman Township Fire and EMS volunteers were alerted to the 1400 block of Rt.
739 for a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment.
As units began responding the Communications Center updated personnel
that there was negative entrapment.
Units arrived on scene to find a Volkswagon Bug had left the roadway causing
substantial damage to the undercarriage and steering system.
EMS personnel treated one patient on the scene.
Fire personnel checked for hazards and awaited Pa. State Police at
Blooming Grove. Units operated for
just under an hour on the scene while Assistant Chief LaPadula was at home
resting. Fire personnel also
handled a wires down call on Log Tavern Rd. and a traffic detail at the Dingman
Delaware Middle School earlier in the day.
The DDMS was host of the area’s Odyssey of the Mind (OM) Regional
Competition. The Delaware Valley
School District has several teams moving forward to this year’s state level
competition. Congratulations to all
students and coaches and good luck with states.
Accident Injures Four
03-05-2008- Just
after 1700 hours this evening Fire Station and Squad 26 was dispatched to a
motor vehicle accident on Stateway Rd. near Copper Ct. in Sunrise Lake.
Assistance Chief LaPadula (26-3) was the first unit to arrive on scene
and found a small sedan into a drainage ditch retaining wall.
The vehicle suffered moderate damage and all occupants were self
extricated and suffering minor injuries.
A/C LaPadula held the response to EMS only with traffic control
assistance from fire police already responding.
Ambulance 268 & 269 transported 4 young patients to an area hospital for
additional treatment.
Afternoon Dryer Fire
03-03-2008- The volunteers were alerted just after 1300 hours
for a reported dryer on fire on Sunfish Rd. in the Sunrise Lakes development.
26 Ladder and Ambulance 269 responded to the scene while 26 Tanker stood
by at station. Personnel arrived on
the scene to find the fire extinguished by the homeowner using a household fire
extinguisher. Fire personnel
checked for any hidden fire and removed the damaged unit from the residence.
No injuries were reported.
Fire units operated on scene for forty minutes.
Ambulance 269 also handled two medical emergencies throughout the day.
Unfortunately, Assistant Chief LaPadula was at his job today and was
unable to attend the calls.
Accident To Start March
03-01-2008- Some winter weather in the area this morning
brought the first Fire Station call for March.
At 08:04 hours 26 Rescue and Ambulance 269 were sent to Route 739 near
Wild Meadow Dr. for a report of possibly two separate motor vehicle accidents.
Chief Mikulak (26-1) arrived in the area to find one van off the roadway
into a tree with no injuries. The 2nd
accident required no FD services.
26 Rescue personnel checked for hazards and controlled traffic.
Ambulance 269 doubled checked on injuries.
Units were in service for fifty minutes.
